Hi All, A little overdue, but here are a couple of goes at a banner logo for the Club. I've tried to blend the features of electronic communication, Great Britain & Ireland and the Rotary brand. The all yellow version of the brand seems to stand out best. The first has a more people focused background. The second more technology and there is also a third simpler version without the background - more useful for badges. Does this trigger any ideas or comments? Paul

By the way, if you click on each image, you will see a larger version...

Hi Paul,
They look absolutely fab! I really like the Uk as the background. I noticed the resolution suffers a little bit when you expand them but I'm assuming that's just because they are limited in size on the forum. My favourite is the simple one although that might be because my vision isn't very good at the moment so it's the easiest one for me to see/read.
*Edit* Just chatting to our Comm's Apprentice Rosie as she is a member and has access to Adobe Packages and Graphic designer software she's offered her assistance if you would like it. She is also very good at making sure we are compliant with all of the branding guidelines (which I am definitely not!).

Hi Emily, Thanks for that. It is hard to get the right contrast difference with the background images - to make the text piece more readable - so it may be best to go with the simple one. The original resolution is quite a bit higher - about 3 times larger than the version I posted. The British Isles map is pretty high resolution and I can easily regenerate the brand logo to match it. That would allow 'poster' size if necessary.

Hi Emily, The artwork was assembled through Adobe Photoshop Elements, so I suspect I'm using similar facilities to those Rosie has access to. I believe it meets the current branding guidelines, but would be very interested in Rosie's opinion as I have other logos that may need to be modified if this one isn't fully compliant. :-)

Thanks Paul, Rosie's email is rosie.anderson@rotarygbi.org if you want to get in touch. My vision is far from good at the moment so for me personally simpler is better

Hi everyone - I agree with Emily that the plain one is clearer to read, however, I also wondered if we should include a reference to the rest of the world, since some of our members live outside GB&I? Just a thought as one of the benefits is that wherever you are in the world, internet permitting, you can take part in Rotary e-club meetings/discussions, etc.
On different matters,
Rosie was given a really warm welcome at the Foodbank when she delivered our donations, so we are continuing with our first Friday of the month, Foodbank Fridays...
The neighbouring Rotary clubs' skittles evening held a couple of days ago was good fun even though I won the worst player's prize of a large packet of "skittles" sweets, which I shared with my colleagues at the Support Centre!
I'm off for 2 weeks now so will catch up with you all on my return...
Best wishes, Claire
