Thank you to the clubs who have donated towards Tackling Hunger and who are sending volunteers.
If your club would like to get involved this year, please see below for ways that you can help:
Fundraising:
We still have a shortfall of around £500 for meal pack ingredients and are asking clubs if they can help; this really is a case of every little helps! If any of your members would like to make personal donations, this can be easily done via BT MyDonate (link also on the Tackling Hunger website):
mydonate.bt.com/events/tackling-hunger01/473372.
Volunteers:
We still have volunteer spaces, please find attached a poster which can be circulated to your contacts in the community, schools and youth groups. This is fantastic opportunity for hands-on ‘international service’, right on your doorstep!
If your club is sending volunteers for packing shifts, please ask them to sign up via the Eventbrite system (which covers us for health & safety and photographic consent), link below:
www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/tackling-hunger-2019-event-open-registrations-registration-57987034782We are still looking for Rotarians for the registration desk, available time slots are 9am, 11am or 1.45pm. The ‘packers’ are being asked to arrive 20 minutes before their shift so we are looking to have the registration desk staffed from 30 minutes before.
Car park marshals are still needed for the same time slots, again only 30 minute shifts.
If you would like to help with either of the above tasks, please let me know which shift work best for you.
Last year, Rotarians on the registration desk also wanted to do a packing shift - it is possible to go from the desk straight into packing. If you would like to do this, please can you also register for the packing shift via our Eventbrite link above.
Foodbank Donations
The Trussell Trust will be at the event and will be collecting food items for their UK foodbanks. We have asked all volunteers to bring along at least one foodbank item, last year several clubs and schools had organised collections in advance for items to bring along (see list of urgently needed items:
coventry.foodbank.org.uk/give-help/donate-food/ ) Again, every contribution really does help for those families using the foodbank services.
Thank you for your support, we hope to see you on the 7th April!
Kind regards,
Diane
